Cloud Computing and Education Records Protection - The Perfect Storm

Archive Available

OVERVIEW

Institutions of higher learning have been among the earliest adopters of enterprise cloud computing, primarily to reduce the costs hosting e-mail accounts. However, it is becoming increasingly clear that there are a host of informational security concerns and compliance issues that arise when an institution taps into the cloud. There have been a number of high profile glitches and breaches during the past year, and institutions must ensure they adhere to the ethical and legal requirements of using the cloud.

Join LeRoy Rooker, AACRAO Senior Fellow; Mark McConahay, Director AACRAO's Technology Conference; and Dennis Cromwell, Associate Vice President of Enterprise Infrastructure at Indiana University for an illuminating discussion on handling the complexities of cloud computing and records protection.
